This course is aimed at allowing students with no specific skills in art and design to gain access to post secondary courses in this area by :
   > providing a good foundation in arts and professional skills ;
   > facilitating orientation.
Thus, at the end of this one year course, students can choose to apply to any bts, dma, or teachers'training college preparatory course.
Application must then conform to the general rules.
An application form must be taken from Duperré in due time, filled out and returned before the deadline.
Admission to the foundation course is granted to any student having completed secondary education no earlier than the previous year. A first selection of applicants is chosen according to their academic records. The shortlisted applicants then have to submit to a written and graphic test which is common to the four parisian art schools.

Besides academic subjects, foundation provides courses in plastic art, art history, art and design and technology, perspective drawing, plastic studies.
