This course aims at qualifying designers
who have creative flair and can work in all areas of visual
communication : advertising (commercial campaigns, logos,
visual concepts), advertising on location, graphic images
(for a company, a product, a service), packaging, publishing,
editing, illustration, social and cultural campaigns.
A visual communication graduate can find
employment in many diverse areas such as advertising agencies,
design studios within companies, or independant graphic
illustration.
Applicants must have obtained a secondary
degree in art and design, or have attended a one year foundation
course. Admittance is granted after close scrutiny of academic
records. Shortlisted students are then interviewed and must
show a personal portfolio.
After graduation, students can apply for
a dsaa (post-graduate) course, teachers' training college
preparatory course, the National School of Decorative Arts,
or various schools of design abroad.
Besides academic tuition,
visual communication provides courses in plastic art, art
history, different options in studio work, communication
technology, production technology, computer assisted design.
