A Graduate in textiles will go on to either
design and create in a textile studio or be able to manage
a business in the field of embroidery, tapestry, weaving
or knitting. This may include working in industry , small
companies or as a craftsperson as well as teaching in leisure
and community centres, vocational schools, youth clubs etc.
Contents of the course
:
> the first year of
the course aims at deepening and widening the student's
knowledge and ability as well as broadening the student's
skills. This course is based on an interdisciplinary approach
and permanent contact with the professional world. It comprises
of general studies, art studies, technology, professional
studies and practical studies, mostly lead in a studio environment.
General and artistic studies are also provided.
> the second year
focuses on professional qualification and integration. Students
are encouraged to work in total autonomy to define, design,
develop and promote a personal project with the help of
the tutors.
Final graduation is given by a jury equally
composed of professional and teaching persons.
Applicants must have obtained a secondary
education degree in art and design, a qualification in textile
design or have taken a one year foundation course in art
and design. They will then submit to an interview and must
produce a professional and artistic portfolio providing
evidence of their artistic and creative abilities together
with a C.V and covering letter.
